Vincent Hector
Guided by curiosity and a creator at heart, turning ideas into reality. With a deep love for design, an eye for detail, and a passion for discovering and using the right tools to bring it alive. I find joy in the journey from concept to creation. Whether it's crafting digital experiences, shaping visual stories, or exploring with new mediums.
Vision
Next to its different functions, a public building is foremost a place where people interact with each other. Not only contact in the form of speech, but also in the sense of presence, meeting and interrelating. A space that can be approximated, created and been morphed. Movement through and ´between´ the spaces can be experienced.
The designing had to have the audacity to face antinomy. Everything is possible, but not every time and everywhere. The art is to combine and to merge antinomies, but also the courage to choose. Designing is more then just combining functions and putting a roof over it. It’s also making a world of experience. A whole of light and space, of beauty and shelter. Unity in diversity. The elegance that things are surprising and right. The pleasure of looks and use. To stir up something.
Spaces are created by penetration, twisting and giving direction with wall and glass. This is done to create a sensible space experience in volume, structure and face. By persisting consequently this space experience is not only felt from the inside, but also from the outside. Using the same material inside and outside is enforcing this. Transition of areas is created by expanding walls or letting them penetrate each other. The front of a building is not necessary the frontier between inside and outside. Possible required privacy can be formed from a room within a room. The function of the walls is not restricted to separation of rooms. They are important in the assembling of several spaces and volumes to a whole. The feeling of perception is set by the interaction of scale and direction in regard to the public. When in a design a “route” (non-route) is determined, on the way back that same route can give you a totally other experience.
